Gem Mining Sluice

 Here is the place to find gemstones and minerals in the rough!

In our giftshop we sell bags of mining 'rough' that has been seeded with gemstones, minerals, fossils or arrowheads.  Some rough contains emeralds!  Mining rough ranges in weight from 3 to 5 pounds and costs range from $4.50 to $9.00.  We supply all necessary equipment and supplies to make your mining experience an enjoyable one.

This is a very popular activity for groups as miners learn how to pan for these specimens, identify what they find and take home a nice collection.  Entertaining and educational, panning for treasures is fun for all ages and is a great way to pass the time for family members who are unable or unwilling to go on the cavern tour.

Please note gem mining is an outdoor activity and is limited to above freezing temperatures.
